India's leading auto manufacturing company - Maruti Suzuki will be launching the next generation Maruti Ertiga MPV in India next week. Slated to be launched on November 21, the car maker will be announcing the prices for the next-gen MPV. The bookings for the all-new Ertiga have officially commenced with upfront payment of Rs 11,000. To be retailed through Maruti Arena dealerships, the new 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be made available in 4 variants - L, V, Z and Z+. Ditching old Swift's platform, the all-new Ertiga will carry the Suzuki's new Heartect platform that also underpins new Swift as well as Dzire. Interestingly, the new Ertiga will be longer and wider than the predecessor. It will be 99mm longer and 5mm wider than outgoing model. The MPV will also carry a bigger boot for accommodating the luggage. However, the wheelbase remains untouched at 2740mm. Under the hood, the MPV will borrow Ciaz's 1.5-litre petrol unit, which is paired to mild-hybrid technology. SO, we can speculate the same SHVS tech to be offered on the new Ertiga. The unit is capable of making 105Ps of maximum power along with 138Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox along with a 4-speed torque converter unit. The MPV will also be offered in a diesel avatar that is will be powered by the same 1.3-litre diesel seen on the previous model. The unit can produce 89PS of max power with 200Nm of peak torque and could be mated to a 5-speed manual unit only.

The all-new Ertiga will carry new front grille design featuring chrome detailing and projector headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, redesigned bumpers, C-shaped fog lamps, chrome door handles, and much more. The interior of the MPV will not be borrowed from Swift like the outgoing Ertiga. Lastly, the company will be looking to keep the prices of the all-new Ertiga very competitive. The current generation Ertiga retails around Rs 6.3 lakh to Rs 10.6 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Ertiga is expected to be slightly premium than the predecessor.
