Tata Motors, a well-recognised homegrown automaker has finally launched the new Tata Harrier SUV in India at an event in Mumbai. Priced at Rs 12.69 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai), the new Tata Harrier SUV is based on the H5X concept that was showcased at Auto Expo 2018. Based on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced (OMEGA) Architecture, 2019 Tata Harrier is the first vehicle to sport company's IMPACT Design 2.0 design language. The newly launched Tata Harrier is offered in 4 variants - XE, XM, XT and XZ and it also comes in 5 exciting shades - Calisto Copper, Thermisto Gold, Ariel Silver, Telesto Grey & Orcus White. In terms of safety, the 5-seater SUV packs top-of-the-line safety features such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP), 6 Airbags and Child Seat ISOFIX Anchors and much more.
Under the hood, the SUV comes powered by a 2.0 Kryotec Diesel engine, which is mated to a 6-speed Manual Transmission. The diesel engine is capable of making 140 PS of maximum power with peak torque of 350 Nm. The SUV also gets Advanced Electronically Controlled Variable Geometry Turbocharger (eVGT) for low-end torque and linear power delivery.
As far as the prices are concerned, Tata Harrier SUV gets a starting price of Rs 12.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the XE variant. The remaining 3 variants - XM, XT and XZ are priced at Rs 13.75 lakh, Rs 14.95 lakh and Rs 16.25 lakh respectively (All Prices Ex-showroom Mumbai).
