Tata Motors, a home grown automaker recently launched the AMT version of Nexon sub-compact SUV in India at a price tag of Rs. 9.41 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the AMT version of Nexon is offered on the top-end XZA+ variant only for petrol and diesel engine options. As per the market reports, it is speculated that Tata Motors is planning to make Nexon AMT more affordable for the Indian buyers. Going by the leaked certification document, the car maker might soon introduce the Nexon SUV on XZA and XMA variants. It is also reported that the variants will be feature loaded in comparison to its counterparts. Moreover, the lower variants of Nexon AMT SUV will come with Smart Hill Assist and creep function features as seen on the XZA+ variant.
As far as the features are concerned, the new Nexon XZA AMT variant is expected to be fitted with LED DRLs, adjustable ORVMs, 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto compatibility & Navigation, reverse parking camera and a Harman sourced music system and much more. On the other hand, Nexon XMA AMT variant will be more feature loaded than the lower XZA AMT variant which is expected to sport dual tone wheel covers, ConnectNext infotainment system, audio controls on steering wheel, rear parking sensors, speed sending auto door lock and more. The mechanical front on the SUV will remain untouched featuring 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engines. The former is tuned to make 110 PS of maximum power with peak torque of 170 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel motor can develop maximum power of 110 PS of power with 260 Nm of max torque. The Nexon XZA and XMA variants are expected to attract a price hike of around Rs. 70,000 in comparison to their manual counterparts.
