Volkswagen India has released the final teasers for the Taigun facelift ahead of its official market debut on April 9, 2026. This marks the first major mid-life update for the SUV since its introduction in 2021. The latest visual previews confirm a modernized exterior design, highlighted by a new connected LED light bar and an illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front. These changes align the Taigun with the brand’s global design language seen on newer models like the Tayron.

The upcoming model is expected to address previous feature gaps to better compete in the crowded mid-size SUV segment. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the facelift introduces redesigned front and rear bumpers with a cleaner aesthetic and reduced chrome detailing. The rear lighting setup has also been updated with more pronounced C-shaped graphics, while new alloy wheel designs are expected to differentiate the updated variants from the outgoing model. Maruti Suzuki To Launch 4 New Models in India, Electric MPV and Brezza Facelift in Pipeline.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Specifications and Features

The interior of the Taigun facelift is set to receive several premium additions, many of which are shared with its platform sibling, the Skoda Kushaq. Key upgrades include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Drivers and passengers may also benefit from new comfort features such as a panoramic sunroof, rear-seat massage functions, and an improved air conditioning system specifically tuned for higher cooling efficiency in local climates.

Safety remains a priority, with the SUV expected to carry forward a comprehensive suite of features. This includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and tyre pressure monitoring as standard across most variants. There is also speculation regarding the inclusion of all-wheel disc brakes for the higher-performance 1.5-litre variants, further enhancing the vehicle's braking performance

Under the hood, the Taigun facelift will continue to offer two turbocharged petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TSI engine produces 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TSI EVO engine delivers 150 PS and 250 Nm. A significant mechanical update is the expected introduction of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre engine, replacing the previous 6-speed unit to provide smoother shifts and improved fuel economy. VinFast VF MPV 7 Pre-Bookings Open for New Electric Seven-Seater Ahead of April 15 Launch.

The 1.5-litre engine will likely retain its 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox options. While official pricing will be announced at the launch, industry estimates suggest the range could start from approximately INR 10.58 lakh and go up to INR 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated Taigun will continue its rivalry with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
