DA Hike in Sikkim: Govt Raises Allowance to 60% for Employees and Pensioners From January 1

Under the revised order, employees and pensioners drawing pay or pension under the pre-revised basic pay structure will see DA and DR increase from 257 per cent to 262 per cent.
For those covered under the revised basic pay structure, the DA and DR have been raised from 58 per cent to 60 per cent. The revised rates will also apply to contractual employees and personnel working in work-charged establishments who receive revised pay under the regular scales of the state government. DA Hike for All India Service Officers
The Sikkim government has also revised the DA applicable to All India Service (AIS) officers serving under the state government. For AIS officers continuing under the pre-revised pay band and grade pay structure based on the Sixth Central Pay Commission, DA has been increased from 257 per cent to 262 per cent. Around 50,000 Employees and Pensioners to Benefit
The decision is expected to benefit around 50,000 employees and pensioners in Sikkim. The revised rates cover both the pre-revised and revised pay structures. The Finance Department has also specified the rounding-off procedure for the revised payments. Amounts involving a fraction of 50 paise or more will be rounded up to the next rupee, while fractions below 50 paise will be disregarded. The latest revision follows an earlier Sikkim government DA/DR increase announced in March 2026, when rates under the pre-revised structure were raised from 252 per cent to 257 per cent with effect from July 1, 2025.
