The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has temporarily suspended its online services from June 26 to June 29, 2026, as part of a planned database consolidation and software upgrade. During this period, members will not be able to submit or process PF claims through the EPFO portal.
According to the official notice, the maintenance window began at 12 am on June 26 and will continue until 11:59 pm on June 29. All online services are expected to resume at 12 am on June 30. The outage will affect the Member Portal, Employer Portal and the UMANG app. Services including PF claim submission and processing, Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) filing, UAN linking for new employees and e-passbook access will remain unavailable throughout the maintenance period.
EPFO said the upgrade is aimed at improving service delivery, speeding up claim processing, enhancing security and providing a better user experience for members and employers. The timing of the shutdown has also drawn attention as it comes shortly before the expected rollout of EPFO 3.0. Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently said testing for UPI-based PF withdrawals has been completed, with the feature expected to launch soon. The upgraded platform is also expected to support ATM-like PF withdrawals, paperless claim processing and faster settlements.
Members with non-urgent transactions are advised to wait until June 30. Those requiring assistance during the downtime can contact the EPFO helpline at 14470.
