Why Is EPFO Suspending Online Services?
According to a notice issued on the EPFO member portal, the organisation is undertaking a planned database consolidation and software upgrade of its claims processing system.
The upgrade is intended to streamline operations, improve service quality and enhance the overall user experience for members accessing EPFO's online services. EPFO 3.0: Can You Still Withdraw 100% of Your EPF Balance? Here’s What the New Rules Say.
When Will EPFO Services Be Unavailable?
The temporary suspension of services will begin at 12:00 am on June 26, 2026, and continue until 11:59 pm on June 28, 2026.
EPFO has said all affected services are expected to resume from 12:00 am on June 29, 2026.
Which EPFO Services Will Be Affected?
During the three-day maintenance period, members will not be able to:
- Submit new EPF claim requests through the EPFO member portal
- Access claim processing services
- Apply for provident fund withdrawals, transfers and other online claim-related services
Users planning to file any EPF claims are advised to wait until the portal becomes operational again.
What Happens to Existing EPF Claims?
EPFO has clarified that claims submitted before the scheduled maintenance will remain valid and will not be cancelled or rejected.
However, processing of pending claims may be delayed during the migration period. These claims will be taken up once services are restored after the system upgrade.

Members who need assistance during the temporary disruption can contact the EPFO call centre by dialling 14470.
EPFO has apologised for the inconvenience and said the upgrade is a key step towards offering faster, more secure and more efficient digital services for its subscribers.
Subscribers requiring urgent online claim services should plan accordingly and submit fresh applications after the portal resumes normal operations on June 29, 2026.
