This year's Bigg Boss, the 12th season, launched with the theme of jodis. The nation was shocked and amused in the same amount to see bhajan maestro Anup Jalota enter the house with a woman lesser than half his age, Jasleen Matharu. They did admit on national TV on the main stage, in Salman Khan's presence that they were in a romantic relationship. Or at least that is what was implied. Their romance inside the house was one of the factors that managed to fetch the show some TRP. But taking a U-turn post her eviction Jasleen has called her on-screen romance with Anup as fake. Earlier, post his eviction, Anup had also said that he had no idea why Jasleen implied they were in a relationship when all they were was a mentor-student jodi. He even had Jasleen's father share the frame with him in a video and express the same. Now, Jasleen, too, has denied the authenticity of everything that happened on the show.
Post her eviction, in an interview with Mid-Day, Jasleen said that she was shocked to know that this has become a national issue. "I am 28 and he is 65," she added, "I Googled all that was written about me; I saw the memes about Anupji and me."
Jasleen then made the big revelation in this interview. She said, "Our affair is a prank gone horribly wrong. As the show's theme was jodis, I suggested that Anupji come along; we were a guru-shishya jodi. But when Salman was introducing the housemates in the opening episode, I joked that I know Anupji for three years and that we are together. Anupji was taken aback and did not react. Had he reacted then, the matter would have ended there. I continued the joke inside the house, and he played along. But when he realised things were going too far, he was scared."
Well, that complicates things more than it clears them out. Doesn't it? Did you believe that Jasleen and Anup's affair was genuine? Tweet to us @latestly.
