5 times Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor's Veere Di Wedding Trailer Reminded Us of Sex and the City Series
I felt Veere Di Wedding trailer has a lot of Sex And The City in it! And it's a good thing.
Fans finally got to watch the Veere Di Wedding trailer and a lot of them loved it. As an ardent SexĀ And The City fan, I couldn't help but draw references from the trailer to the series. ThereĀ are so many similarities and probably one of the reasons why I am excited to watch this film. Though you can't really draw references to the characters in SATC. Veere is completely different that way but a couple of scenes got me all excited. The bit where Shikha Talsania's character reveals that she hasn't had sex in over a year reminded me of the time when the girls took CarrieĀ to her honeymoonĀ destination and Miranda reveals that she hasn't had sex in months.
Even Sonam Kapoor's banter with herĀ spouse about being a "mother lover" remindedĀ me of Charlotte's first marriage when his mother controlled their marriage so much that she even moved into their house with them. Not to mention there are four girlfriends in both the films (and series, of course!). But I can't get over how much I can relate with the series after watching the trailer of this film.Ā ThoughĀ I would have personally loved if one of the characters was likeĀ Samantha Jones. But I still got my hopes up. They might have one of the characters who is a little bit like Samantha. Bebo's perfect proposalĀ
Summet Vyas proposes to Bebo and it seems like the perfect proposal but she is not ready for it. It's a lot like when Carrie dated Aiden but she sort of screws it up. I know the situation is completely different here but she wasĀ never really the one to get married and so was CarrieĀ when she was dating Aiden.
Shikha's revelation about her sex life
When Big left Carrie at the altar and she goes to her honeymoon with her girl gang, Miranda reveals that she hasn't had sex with Steve in months because the baby and herĀ job have been keeping her busy, the girls get the shock of their lives. The trailer also shows Shikha telling her girlfriends that she hasn't had sex in a year and there is also a shot of her with her baby and the husband.
Sonam's Charlotte moment
When Charlotte datedĀ and married Trey MacDougal, the track shows that Trey's mother is interfering way too much in their lives.Ā Though Charlotte has a problem with it, Trey doesn't seem to mind. Now that's Sonam calling her spouse a "mother lover".
The fashion game
The style quotient is top notch in the movie,Ā just like the show. Fashion was another reason I loved watching SATC, Veere also promises a lot of style goals, so yay!
When girlfriends are BAE!
It's important for the Veeres to stay together despite their differences which is also what SATC is about. It's friendship that lasts andĀ that's important.
