Can Akshay Kumar catch a break? Well, no apparently when it comes to his liberal detractors. The Bollywood superstar had created an image of himself as this nationalistic hero thanks to the kind of projects he has associated himself with in the past few years, movies or otherwise. He is also involved in many social projects, the most popular being promoting the Bharat Ke Veer app that helps the kin of martyred soldiers. However, the actor's credibility and patriotism are often questioned over one important feature - his own citizenship. Akshay Kumar allegedly has Canadian citizenship. Akshay Kumar Fans Label Him ‘Pride of India’ After He Gets Called ‘Canadian’ on Twitter for Using Republic Day to Promote Kesari – View Tweets.

Now, a video is going viral that again gives fodder for Akshay Kumar's detractors to troll the actor. The video clip is taken from an interview where Akshay talks about how his films are received well in Pakistan, and how the kind of love he gets from the fans there is unmatchable compared to everywhere else.

Normally this video is pretty harmless, apart from highlighting an actor's often opportunistic take on which country has more fans of his or hers (depending on where he or she is speaking). However, some of the Twitter users are pointing out that if someone like a Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan would have said that, the RW trolls would have asked them to go to Pakistan. Akshay Kumar More 'Canadian' Than 'Indian'? We request Akki to be very careful with what he says, as these kinds of statement don't go well with the kind of brand he is trying to build.
