‘Awarapan 2’ Global Box Office Update

On Day 6 of its theatrical run, Awarapan 2 added INR 6.75 crore net in India. This brought its total domestic net collection to INR 107.50 crore, officially pushing it past the coveted INR 100 crore mark in India.  In gross terms, the film's domestic total stands at INR 128.29 crore. Combined with an overseas gross of INR 25.30 crore, the movie’s total worldwide earnings reached INR 153.59 crore by the end of Wednesday.

The film kicked off its theatrical journey on August 14 with a robust opening of INR 22 crore. It experienced a significant surge over its first weekend, generating INR 33.75 crore on Saturday and INR 26 crore on Sunday. Steady weekday performance further bolstered its week-one numbers.

Awarapan 2 was released as part of an Independence Day weekend clash alongside Rajkumar Santoshi’s period drama Batwara 1947, starring Sunny Deol. Despite the competition, Awarapan 2 emerged as the clear preference for theatregoers.  Due to surging audience demand, theatre owners increased the screen count for the Emraan Hashmi-starrer through its first week. The movie expanded to over 10,800 daily shows nationwide, reflecting strong holdover capacity heading into its second weekend. ‘Awarapan 2’ Movie Review: Emraan Hashmi Proves Why He Has Cult Following; Sequel About Power of Love, Loss and Redemption.
