Karan Kapadia's debut vehicle Blank co-starring Sunny Deol may have created good buzz courtesy its hatke trailer, however, the film hasn't packed a solid punch at the box office. Directed by Behzad Khambata, the action thriller released on May 3 and opened to not so great reviews. Despite starring an actor like Sunny and an interesting storyline, the film couldn't appeal to the critics. And the case was pretty much the same with the audience as well. We say so because Blank only managed to rake in around Rs 40 to 45 lakh on day 1 which is very disappointing. Blank Movie Review: Karan Kapadia and Sunny Deol Pummel Their Way Through This Dull Thriller

Apart from Blank, Aftab Shivdasani and Shreyas Talpade starrer Setters also arrived in theatres on Friday. Just like Karan starrer, this one also failed to draw the audience to the cinema halls. In fact, it performed worse than Blank at the ticket windows as it minted around Rs 10-15 lakh on its first day.

Trade portal Boxofficeindia.com reported, "Blank recorded poor collections on its first day as it grossed around 40-45 lakhs nett. The film did poor business all over but was far better than the other new release Setters which was around the 10-15 lakh nett mark. Both the films have no chance as the first-day business is too low and reports do not suggest manifold growth." Setters Movie Review: Shreyas Talpade and Aftab Shivdasani’s Film Offers an Intriguing Insight Into Educational Malpractices

While the two new releases are struggling to stay afloat at the box office, Hollywood biggie Avengers: Endgame, on the other hand, has continued to wreak havoc at the ticket windows in India. The film is fast heading towards the Rs 300 crore mark and will easily reach the milestone by the end of this week.
