Zoya Akhtar is hugely praised for the kind of cinema she makes and the way he handles its execution. She made her directorial debut with 2009 release, Luck By Chance and since then she is no a roll. While Luck By Chance was able to get some critical acclaim, it failed to receive any wow reaction from the audiences. Farhan Akhtar Captures His Fanboy Moment With Sir Vivian Richards in an Amazing Instagram Post - See Pic!

While she had the opportunity to direct her brother, Farhan, in her directorial debut, she had a tough time convincing the other actors to play the lead. In Rajeev Masand's latest instalment of Open Magazine, Made in Heaven actor Arjun Mathur, reveals how he was almost finalised to play the lead before Farhan stepped in.

"I’ve never told anyone this, but you know Zoya was having a lot of trouble casting the lead for that film. She went through a bunch of actors, and at one point she gave me the script and spoke about me doing it. I thought, ‘This is it. My life is going to change.’ Then Farhan got the role, and she offered me the best friend," he said while narrating the incident to Rajeev Masand. Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan Training Video Is Perfect for Mid-Week Motivation!
