Kunal Kemmu is one of the most talented and yet underrated actors in Bollywood, who has been let down by some really bad choices. Starting off as a child actor in movies like Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke and Zakhm, Kemmu later had a successful lead debut with Kalyug, but his choices ahead didn't help his career. He was fantastic in movies like 99, Go Goa Gone, Superstar, and in the last two movies of the Golmaal franchise, but either the movie didn't work at the box office or it had an ensemble cast for him to be singled out. So we are glad when we hear Kunal Kemmu has been signed for the biggie, Kalank.

As per a source close to the project, director Abhishek Varman was the key in casting Kemmu in the movie. The source revealed, "Abhishek feels Kunal is extremely promising and he has already shot a few scenes that the filmmaker has loved." Kalank would be Kunal Kemmu's first Dharma movie. He was last seen in the 2017 blockbuster Golmaal Again.

With Kemmu's addition, the sprawling cast just got bigger. The movie already has some notably huge names in the roster like Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. The pre-partition drama is a project close to producer Karan Johar, who once had rumoured to make the film with Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.

Kalank, produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions, and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment is slated to release on April 19, 2019.
