Unless you are living under a giant rock, you would be aware that Kangana Ranaut's sister, Rangoli Chandel is an acid attack survivor herself. Words won't justify the pain she had at a young age of 23 and the efforts she took to wipe down this bitter memory. While Kangana always wanted to make a movie on her sister's life and narrate her tale, Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak will start doing the honours first. Based on the life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Aggarwal, Chhapaak is being directed by Meghna Gulzar and Rangoli is very eager to extend her support for it. Chhapaak First Look Out! Being a victim of an acid attack, she can relate to her in so many ways. She's happy for the makers are even considering a project on her life and is extremely proud of Deepika, who chose to go ahead with it. No matter how unfair and unjust the world is we musn’t reflect what we hate, this is commendable on @deepikapadukone and @meghnagulzar part, being an acid attack survivor I pledge to be their biggest cheerleader #Chhapaak, she tweeted while praising her first look from the movie. Chhapaak First Look: Twitterati Can't Stop Cheering for Deepika Padukone's 'Malti'.

In her earlier interaction with Hindustan Times, Rangoli had elaborated on her sufferings and how traumatic the entire experience was. "When it happened, I was unable to breathe because my windpipe was shrinking. Scars were the last thing on my mind then. I didn’t have the courage to face a mirror for three months. I was shaken up. My prerogative was struggling for my life because both my food and windpipe were severely damaged," she said. She eventually moved on but the chapter refuses to leave her memory.
