Mika Singh Comes Out in Support of Ranveer Singh Amid ‘Don 3’ Row and FWICE Ban, Says He Will Speak to the Film Body
Singer Mika Singh has publicly extended his support to actor Ranveer Singh, offering to mediate an ongoing conflict with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The federation recently issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer following his sudden exit from Don 3, a move that filmmakers Farhan Akhtar claims resulted in heavy pre-production losses.
Singer and composer Mika Singh has publicly extended his support to actor Ranveer Singh, who is currently facing an industry-wide non-cooperation directive issued by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The apex workers' body took action following a complaint by filmmakers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment, who alleged substantial financial losses after Ranveer’s sudden exit from the highly anticipated action franchise Don 3. Mika has offered to personally step in and mediate the ongoing conflict between the actor and the federation. Will Ranveer Singh’s ‘Don 3’ Row Affect His Upcoming Film ‘Pralay’? Here’s What We Know.
Mika Singh Backs Ranveer Singh in ‘Don 3’ Row
Speaking to digital creator and paparazzi platform Viral Bhayani, Mika Singh defended Ranveer’s character and promised to act as a peacemaker. "Ranveer Singh is such a good and down-to-earth person. I know FWICE very well, and I'll personally meet them and talk to them. After all, we are the bhais (brothers)," Mika stated, advocating for an amicable resolution.
Mika's decision to intervene holds significance because the singer himself faced similar disciplinary action from FWICE in 2019 following a performance at an event in Pakistan. That ban was eventually lifted after mutual discussions and an apology, giving Mika personal experience in dealing with the federation's regulatory protocols.
The ‘Don 3’ Conflict
The dispute traces back to creative differences over the development of Don 3. Ranveer was announced as the new titular lead of the franchise in 2023, taking over the iconic mantle previously held by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. However, production updates stalled, leading to reported friction between the actor and Excel Entertainment. Sources indicate that Ranveer grew frustrated with repeated pre-production delays and the lack of a finalised script. ‘Don 3’ Row: Ranveer Singh Offered Farhan Akhtar INR 10 Crore and an INR 25 Crore Discount on His Next Excel Entertainment Film – Report.
Furthermore, Ranveer reportedly envisioned a darker, grittier treatment for the character, which clashed with director Farhan Akhtar’s preference to stay aligned with the slick, stylised tone of the earlier instalments. Tensions escalated when Ranveer discovered that alternative casting options were being quietly evaluated while he was still officially attached to the project.
