Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical film Padmaavat is clearly making up for the initial losses in the clashes before its release. After much delay, the film finally released on the Republic Day weekend and on the 29th day it has crossed the Rs. 250 crores mark. In its third week, the film got a comparatively meagre response on Friday with collection close to Rs. 3.50 crores but on Sunday it made a business of Rs. 8 crores. Padmaavat has made Rs. 257 crores at the Indian box-office. Post the release of the film too it was in controversy given the statements some actors made regarding the iconic Jauhar scene from the film. But all of this just piqued the curiosity among the audiences who had still not seen it and rushed to the theatres.

Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the third week's collection on Twitter. He wrote, '#Padmaavat [Week 3] Fri 3.50 cr, Sat 6.30 cr, Sun 8 cr, Mon 3.20 cr. Total: ₹ 257 cr. India biz.' So after a little slump on Friday, the film did more business on Sunday. The figures are very impressive and the film becomes a record for all the three leads. It is the seventh film of Deepika Padukone which has crossed the Rs. 100 crores mark. If we see the worldwide collection, the film has made over Rs. 400 crores.

All the three actors have been overwhelmed by the response it is getting on the box-office. The talks of the film still refuse to die down, be it for the characters or the gossips. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar starrer Padman which was supposed to be clashing with Padmaavat initially is now seeing a lukewarm response. PadMan Box Office Collection day 4: Akshay Kumar's Film Shows a Dip; Collects Rs 45.92 Crore It was indeed a wise decision to shift the release date further to avoid competing at the box-office. Padmaavat is proving its smooth run in its third week.
