New Delhi, October 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with members of the creative and entertainment world to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The event was attended by Bollywood celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Aanand L Rai, Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Boney Kapoor among others. The interaction was being held at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, the official residence of PM Modi. During the interaction, PM Modi said, "Gandhi is synonymous with simplicity. His thoughts reverberate far and wide. The power of creativity is immense and it is essential to harness this spirit of creativity for our nation. Appreciating PM Modi for popularising ideals of Bapu, Aamir Khan said, "First and foremost, I want to appreciate PM Modi for thinking about this effort further popularising the ideals of Bapu). As creative people, there is much we can do. And, I assure the PM that we will do even more."

King Khan also thanked the Premier for bringing creative and entertainment world together for "a cause such as this (Mahatma Gandhi)". "I feel we need to re-introduce Gandhi Ji to India and the world," he said.

"We are accustomed to being known as representatives from the world of entertainment. But, you have also added a spirit of responsibility to this by involving us in popularising the ideals of Gandhi Ji," said Aanand L Rai to PM Narendra Modi.

In a video message, Ekta Kapoor said that PM Modi understands the power of our industry. Similarly, Kangana Ranaut said that it's a remarkable day. She also thanked PM Modi for giving great respect to the media industry.
