According to DNA, Priyanka and Nick's Indian wedding was a gala affair. A haldi ceremony was organised in the afternoon and Nick entered the venue on a horse-drawn carriage in the evening. The baaraat began at the front porch of the Umaid Bhawan Palace and moved to the Baradari Lawns, where a grand 'mandap' was set up. Pandit Chandrashekar, who is a native of Pali, was flown in especially from Bengaluru with a team of five other Hindu priests for the ceremony.
