Actor Rajpal Yadav has addressed a viral video from the promotions of his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, which sparked speculation of a rift between him and co-star Akshay Kumar. The clip, which circulated widely on social media, appeared to show Kumar pushing Yadav aside during a group photo session. Netizens quickly criticised the action as disrespectful, but Yadav has now clarified that the gesture was rooted in a specific photo-taking habit rather than any personal animosity. Rajpal Yadav Breaks Silence on Controversy With Akshay Kumar
In an interaction with ANI, Yadav dismissed the rumours of a snub, explaining that the moment was a simple misunderstanding of context by those viewing it from a distance. According to the comedian, the incident occurred because he arrived late for a promotional event where Akshay Kumar, producer Ekta Kapoor, and other cast members were already posing.
"If I talk about the controversy of that day, both Akshay and Ekta had come along with the other two girls. I was late, and they were waiting for me," Yadav told ANI. He explained that in his rush to join the group, he inadvertently stood in the centre, which prompted Kumar to rearrange the lineup.
Rajpal Yadav Calls It a Matter of 'Moral Values'
Yadav highlighted that Kumar follows a specific etiquette during public appearances that prioritises the positioning of women in the frame. He clarified that the "push" was actually Kumar guiding him to a different spot to maintain a balanced and respectful arrangement.
"This is actually the deep-rooted moral values of Akshay Paji... I don't know what people thought from a distance," Yadav added. "Actually, Akshay sir has this gesture that when there are three girls and two males, the three females are always in the middle, with one male on one side and the other male on the other side."
Akshay-Rajpal's Decades of Camaraderie
The actor emphasised that his relationship with Kumar is built on over two decades of mutual respect and friendship, dating back to their first collaboration in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2003). The duo has since appeared in several cult classics, including Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa
." Akshay Paji... we must have shouted at each other ten times, rehearsed ten times. In life, he loves me, I love him, and I get inspired by him somewhere," Yadav said. He noted that their comfort level often leads to playful banter that could be misinterpreted by outsiders. ‘Bhooth Bangla’ Teaser Reactions: Akshay Kumar-Priyadarshan’s Horror Comedy Glimpse Impresses Netizens, Fans Call It ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ (Watch Video).
