Zoya Akhtar directorial, Gully Boy which starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in key roles received love and applaud from critics and masses simultaneously. The rap drama based on Mumbai rappers Divine and Naezy's story, showed the nation a new side of the rap world. Also, it was recently in the news about how this film has been selected as India's official entry to the 92nd Oscar. And now going by the latest update, all we can say Gully Boy seems to be unstoppable. It so happened that Zoya's brother Farhan took to his Twitter and announced a victory for team Gully BoyRanveer Singh Bomb Explodes Unannounced on Crowd, Invites Twitterati Rage.

Congratulating the team, Akhtar's tweet conveyed that Gully Boy has won the Best Film from India in the regional finals of the Asian Academy Creative Awards. Well, this is BIG indeed! After the news broke online, fans of the musical flick started pouring congratulatory messages for the team. FYI, the AAC Awards lauds and celebrates the work from the region, and it was "established to serve the creative industries as the pinnacle of their achievement in content creation and media production".

Apart from this win and an official entry into Oscars, Gully Boy was also premiered at the Berlin Film Festival ahead of its release on February 2019. It had received a huge round of applause and some really good words from the foreign press. Looks like Ranveer wasn't lying when he said, "Apna Time Aayega!" Well now all we await when team Gully Boy will lift the Oscar trophy!
