In a recent Facebook Live interaction with his fans, Sanjay Dutt has confirmed that the sequel to his 1991 hit, Sadak, is in the works. Fro, what we have been hearing, the movie will not be a reboot but a proper sequel and will be set years after the events of the first film. Not just Sanjay Dutt, the movie is reportedly marking the return of Pooja Bhatt on the big screen after the 2001 film Everybody Says I'm Fine!

Now as per a report in Spotboye, Mahesh Bhatt, who has directed the film, will be returning back to helm the sequel. It will be two decades since Mahesh Bhatt has made a movie after 1999 (his last film, Kartoos, interestingly starred Sanjay Dutt himself). Alia Bhatt is also playing the lead in the film, making it the first time that she is acting in a home production and being directed by her father. Aditya Roy Kapur is being touted as the male lead opposite her in the film. He had appeared in a cameo in Dear Zindagi where Alia Bhatt was the main lead.

The report further says that Sadak 2 will be about the relationship between Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt's characters, with Sanjay playing her father. Sanjay will be shown as a drug addict in the movie. After the debacles of Bhoomi and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, Sanjay needs a really good film to be around his character, and Sadak 2 could be that! What say?
