ICYMIY, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is in the making. The Rani Mukerji-Abhishek Bachchan starrer definitely deserved a sequel, because it was such an iconic film and we'd like to know what would happen with our beloved con artist couple. But the catch is that Abhishek is not returning to reprise the role. Instead, Saif Ali Khan has been cast opposite Rani, who is returning, in the new film. Rani and Saif have featured together in hit movie like Hum Tum. Bunty Aur Babli's sequel will also feature a brand new pair - Sharvari and Sidhant Chaturvedi. Siddhant Chaturvedi Says He Is Excited About ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’.

So, now that you are up to speed, we can talk about Saif's latest comment on Bunty aur Babli sequel. When asked to comment on reuniting with his Hum Tum co-star, the actor told Pinkvilla, "It is more age-appropriate. Aditya Chopra is a smart gentleman. It is not like Hum Tum Part 2. It is like a new film. We will talk about this later."

We will wait for this later period of time. Eagerly. Earlier the actor had said, "'Bunty Aur Babli 2' is a completely rebooted sequel and is set in today's time. It is a fantastic script that hooked me on instantly. It is an out and out entertainer for the entire family to sit and enjoy and this is what I loved and connected with,"

"Also, it's a new role for me, new language and milieu and that's what I really look for in a script. I also love the dynamics between the originals and the new Bunty Babli in the film. It's fresh, hilarious and extremely engaging," he added.

Talking about Abhishek's departure from the sequel, Rani said, "The original 'Bunty Aur Babli' got tremendous love and appreciation from audiences and it is their love that has made YRF decide to make the sequel. Abhishek and I were both approached by YRF to reprise our roles as the originals in Bunty Aur Babli 2 but, unfortunately, things didn't work out with him and we will miss him dearly."

Other than this, Saif will be next seen in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior with Kajol and Ajay Devgn. The first trailer of his film, Jawaani Jaaneman, is also just around the corner. He also has a cameo in Dil Bechara. He will also be seen playing the lead role in horror comedy, Bhoot Police. The actor has proved that he can nail the horror comedy genre with Go Goa Gone, so we are looking forward to Bhoot Police as well.
