Salman Khan Unveils Luxury Residential Project in Punjab, Misses Launch Amid ‘Unavoidable Circumstances’
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has launched 'Salman Khan Residences', an INR 2,500 crore luxury residential project in Mohali, Punjab, in collaboration with GB Realty and Jacob & Co. The actor missed the Saturday, October 24, 2026, launch event due to 'unavoidable circumstances', reportedly stemming from ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has ventured into the luxury real estate market with the launch of a high-rise residential project in Mohali, Punjab. The grand unveiling, which took place on Saturday night, saw Khan's physical absence, attributed to 'unavoidable circumstances'. Instead, the actor conveyed his regards and well wishes through a video message, stating, "Due to unavoidable circumstances, I could not make it tonight, but, even though I am not physically present there, my heart, my spirit, and my best wishes are with you." The ambitious project, officially known to include 'Salman Khan Residences' within a larger development, is a significant collaboration between Khan, Punjab-based real estate developer GB Realty, and global luxury watch and jewellery brand Jacob & Co. Located in Mohali's Aerocity, near Chandigarh, the development is estimated to be worth a staggering INR 2,500 crore.
The development will feature a six-tower design, offering spacious 3 and 4 BHK luxury apartments. Earlier this month, names like 'SK Towers', 'The Salman Towers', and 'Salman Khan Towers' were registered for the proposed development, reflecting Khan's direct association with the branding. The overall development, a partnership between Jacob & Co and GB Realty, will comprise six residential towers, with two specifically designated as 'Salman Khan Residences' and three as 'Jacob & Co residences'. The project aims to provide upscale living spaces with modern amenities, potentially shaping into a comprehensive township.
Unavoidable Absence and Lingering Security Concerns
While Khan's video message cited "unavoidable circumstances" for his absence, reports from The Times of India and other news outlets suggest his decision to skip the physical event was influenced by two primary factors: ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and his demanding filming schedule.
Concerns surrounding the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have intensified recently, particularly after an incident earlier this month where the gang reportedly opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff's car. Police investigations indicated that Salman Khan was the original target, but the gang shifted focus to Tiger Shroff due to Khan's stringent security cover. The gang had previously attempted to target Salman Khan, including a firing incident outside his Bandra residence in April 2024. In addition to security concerns, the superstar has a demanding filming schedule with several major projects in the pipeline. He is slated to begin shooting a superhero film with director duo Raj & DK in October 2026. Khan also has an action film with director Vamshi Paidipally, tentatively titled 'Monster' and co-starring Nayanthara, slated for an Eid 2027 release. Another project, the war drama Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, which was initially set for an April 2026 release, is now reportedly eyeing a theatrical release around November or December 2026.
