Sania Mirza is one such popular sports personality who was yet to give her nod to a biopic. While we have earlier seen movies on the life of Mary Kom, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Paan Singh Tomar and the one on Saina Nehwal are in the pipeline, Sania has finally agreed to join this coveted list. Ronnie Screvwala of RSVP productions will produce a movie on the life of this ace tennis player and his name only seems like a wise choice. After ruling the box office with movies like Kedarnath and the recently released Uri: The Surgical Strike, Ronnie was a lookout for some more interesting projects and what better than a biopic on Sania Mirza. We must say getting her nod wasn't an easy task. She had certain apprehensions that needed to be discussed. And finally, months after negotiating the same clauses, she gave a green light to the project. Though no actress is announced as the lead yet, the makers are busy thinking about the right name. Earlier, Sania had expressed a desire for Parineeti Chopra to play the lead in her biopic. Reason? Well, she believed they have the same chest size. Will the producers think of the same name or do they have their preferences in mind? We'll wait for time to answer that.

In her interaction with Mumbai Mirror, Sania was quoted saying, "It’s excitement combined with nervousness—a ‘butterfly in your stomach’ feeling—when you are about to let your life story out to the world. It’s what I felt when my biography was written and I feel exactly the same when my journey is going to be presented on the big screen. I know it’s in good hands with an astute producer like Ronnie (Screwvala), who’s known for telling stories impactfully. I am so excited to partner with him and his team at RSVP and honestly can’t wait for it to go on floors." Is Shah Rukh Khan Really Exiting Saare Jahaan Se Achcha? Producer Ronnie Screvwala's Answer is Not Really Helpful.
It would be an interesting biopic to witness - one that's nothing short of a roller coaster ride. From her career in sports to her marriage to Pakistani skipper, Shoaib Malik and embracing motherhood, it will be a perfect tale to narrate. Let's hope the makers make an official announcement very soon. Till then let's keep guessing the name of the actresses who can compete for this role of a lifetime.
