Even though movies are taking baby steps when it comes to tastefully done bold content (not just sex), web series in India are taking big leaps in this matter. We have seen how Netflix manage to create such a big market for itself with their first Indian web-series, Sacred Games. ALTBalaji has been regularly churning different content on its streaming platform. Amazon had also seen a fair amount of success with Inside Edge, that recently got nominated in Emmys. Not to be left behind, Eros is trying to march ahead of the race with its upcoming series, Smoke.

Like Sacred Games, Smoke features an ensemble cast, is gritty in its content and doesn't shy away from violence and sex. The web-series is set in Goa and is about the sex-and-drub culture of the state, told through multiple narratives. It surely gives us feels of Abhishek Bachchan's Dum Maaro Dum and Alia Bhatt's Udta Punjab.

Smoke has an ensemble cast of talented actors like Kalki Koechlin, Gulshan Devaiah, Jim Sarbh, Mandira Bedi, Prakash Belawadi, Neil Bhoopalam, Girish Kulkarni, Amit Sial, and Satyadeep Mishra. It also marks the final screen appearance of the late actor Tom Alter. The series is directed by Neel Guha.

Smoke will have 11 episodes, all of which will be available on Eros Now, on October 26. The web series will also make its premiere at MIPCOM 2018 in Cannes, France in the ‘Made in India Originals’ category.
