The trailer of Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor's murder mystery thriller The Body has dropped on the internet recently and it has supremely impressed the viewers. Helmed by Drishyam fame Jeethu Joseph, the film is an official adaptation of the 2012 El Cuerpo that featured Gonzalo Bouza and Nuria Cristobal. For the viewers who are looking forward to watching the original Spanish film, El Cuerpo titled The Body in English, we have good news for you. Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor's The Body follows the same plot of El Cuerpo. The premise is about a detective who leads an investigation of a female corpse that goes missing from a morgue. El Cuerpo director Oriol Paulo had also directed 2016 suspense thriller The Invisible Guest (Contratiempo) which was also adapted in Bollywood in Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan's Badla. After Hollywood and Korean films, it looks like Spanish movie remakes are the new flavour of the town. The Body: Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor’s thriller to Clash with Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2 on December 13.

Interestingly, The Body is going to be Rishi Kapoor's first film after his return from the US for his cancer treatment. The film also stars Sobhita Dhulipala and Vedhika in major roles. The film is slated for a December 13 release date in India, where it is clashing with Rani Mukerji's Mardaani 2.
