Varun Dhawan is all set to show off his acting skills in cross border period drama 'Kalank'. After stellar performance in his previous films, 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' and 'October', (not Judwaa 2), the audience is waiting for his first period drama. Now, as per the latest reports, the handsome star got injured while shooting some action sequences for this film. The sequences are choreographed by Shyam Kaushal. The shoot was put to a halt after this incident.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, "The scene was an intense brawl sequence where Varun had to lift and throw a door at a co-actor. The lift was ill-timed, and he ended up injuring his arm badly. The team rushed to his aid and he was given immediate medical attention on set. However, the actor will not be taking a break from the shoot as Abhishek is aiming to wrap up the ongoing schedule before the onset of monsoons.”

Even though he did not shoot for the action scene because of the injury, he shot for a song later. His director-guru and Kalank producer Karan Johar visited the set to get the glimpse of the dance sequence. For those who came late, Kalank is helmed by 2 States director Abhishek Varman. The mega film has a ensemble cast including Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. Not much of the details are out yet on the plot of the movie but this is surely going to be a big one, we bet!
