In an interview with DNA, the actor said, "After I found out about my award, the first call I made was to Ayushmann and not my parents. Vicky added, "The kind of films that he’s chosen, the kind of scripts that he’s picking is inspiring. And there’s certain ease to him as an actor, which is appealing. Vicky added that he will continue to do content-driven films after the National Film Award win. He said, "I have followed my gut till now. Just because you get recognition you don’t need to change your ways. It’s because of those choices that you got the honour, so I don’t want to lose that integrity. I don’t want to lose my trust or my instinct. I’ve always chosen films on based on my instinct, and that’s what I want to keep following,"

Vicky has some very interesting projects lined up. The actor will soon be seen headlining the first Dharma Productions' new horror-movies series, Bhoot. He has also been roped in to play the lead role in Karan Johar's Takht, opposite the likes of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anil Kapoor.  Vicky is currently shooting for a biopic on Sardar Udham Singh, the revolutionary freedom fighter.
