Know if FC Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal will be available for selection for Tuesday's crucial UEFA Champions League 2026-27 fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.
FC Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal is fit and available for selection ahead of Tuesday's crucial UEFA Champions League 2026-27 fixture against Paris Saint-Germain. Despite ongoing management of his workload following a major injury last season, the 19-year-old is expected to feature prominently at the Parc des Princes. Managing the Lamine Yamal's Minutes
Yamal’s fitness has been a deliberate balancing act for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick. After suffering a severe hamstring tear in April that sidelined him for the remainder of the 2025–26 campaign, Yamal's playing time has been closely monitored this season.
The club has been cautious to avoid a relapse of the overuse injury. However, the intensity of Barcelona's current schedule makes resting the young forward difficult. Yamal demonstrated his match sharpness this past Saturday, scoring a goal in a 5–2 La Liga victory over Real Betis before being substituted in the 69th minute to preserve his energy for the European clash.
Defensive Selection Headache
While Yamal is ready to lead the attack alongside Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus, Flick faces a significant defensive crisis. Barcelona have travelled to Paris without three key defenders. Jules Koundé and Eric García both sustained injuries during the weekend victory over Betis, joining Andreas Christensen on the absentee list. In response to the mounting casualties, Flick has called up 18-year-old Barça Atlètic defender Alex Campos, alongside Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim, to reinforce the first-team squad.
A Crucial European Encounter
The Matchday 3 fixture promises to be a demanding test for the Catalan side. PSG enter the match following a strong performance that embarrassed Manchester City, whilst Barcelona look to secure vital away points in the Champions League regular season phase.
