Anurag Kashyap Opens Up on Marriage Plans with Shubhra Shetty
Addressing questions about whether marriage is on the cards, Kashyap revealed that a wedding is not in their plans, primarily because Shetty does not hold a belief in the institution of marriage. The 53-year-old director expressed complete contentment with their current dynamic, emphasising that preserving the bond they share remains his priority. Speaking in an interview with journalist Janice Sequeira, Kashyap discussed his perspectives on love and commitment. "I’m very happy to be with her. I want to be with her. So, whatever that takes," Kashyap stated during the conversation.
Addressing his personal reflections on ageing, he added, "What is an old man's insecurity? I want to be healthy enough to outlive the people I love. Because if it doesn't happen, then what can happen after that? The ways of the world. So, I think about it a lot. But my thing is, as long as we have found what we have found now, I'm happy with anything. I don't want to lose this."
During the interaction, Kashyap also admitted to feeling self-conscious about their age difference in the past, sharing that he once tried to distance himself due to public scrutiny, though the two eventually navigated through those challenges.

Who is Shubhra Shetty?
Shubhra Shetty, who is in her 30s, is a media and film industry professional. She previously worked as an assistant director at Phantom Films, the production house co-founded by Kashyap. The couple was first photographed together around 2015, sparking public interest.
Kashyap officially acknowledged the relationship in a 2018 interview.
