Enough! We have simmered in the speculations around the casting of the new Batman long enough. Is Robert Pattinson in or not? Is Nicolas Hault still in the running? Enough. Today, filmmaker Matt Reeves, who was roped in the write and direct The Batman by Warner Bros in January 2017, made an earthquake of an announcement. The director took to his Twitter handle and shared a gif of Robert. He captioned it with emoji of three bats. So, let us call it a sealed deal? Robert Pattinson is our new Batman in the DCEU. Warner Bros to Release The Batman in June 2021 and Ben Affleck Will NOT be a Part of It.

The role was played by Ben Affleck in two movies in the cinematic universe (Justice League, Dawn of Justice). He was in talks to direct The Batman, but stepped down from the duties due to undisclosed reasons before Reeves came into the picture. The Batman will tell the story of a younger version of the caped crusader. Well, we are looking forward to seeing Pattinson play Batman. There are going to be upset fans over the casting choice, but there is always going to be someone on the other end of the spectrum. And it is about time fans stopped being judgemental towards Pattinson for he featured in four Twilight films. Post the YA movies, the actor has cultivated an impressive filmography for himself.

The Batman is scheduled for a release on June 25, 2021, with shooting expected to begin in September-October this year.
