Tree Cushioned the Fall
According to officials, the woman’s fall was broken by the branches of a tree, preventing what could have been a fatal impact. However, a branch pierced her left thigh, leaving her trapped in the tree and suspended above the ground. Videos of the rescue operation later circulated on social media, drawing widespread attention. The woman has been identified in reports as Pratiksha Hiwrale, aged 26. Fire Brigade Conducts Delicate Rescue
The Mumbai Fire Brigade received information about the incident at around 9.32 a.m. and dispatched personnel to the site. Firefighters used a hook ladder and other rescue equipment to reach the woman and safely bring her down from the tree. The operation required careful coordination because of her position and the injury caused by the branch.
After being rescued, she was taken by ambulance to a nearby private hospital and later shifted to Sion Hospital for surgery, according to civic officials. Doctors said she had sustained injuries to her left thigh.
Circumstances Under Investigation
Initial reports suggested that the woman may have attempted to jump from the building, although authorities have not publicly confirmed the exact circumstances. Police and civic officials are examining the incident and gathering details regarding what led to the fall. No further official statement had been issued regarding the investigation as of Thursday.
Rescue Highlights Emergency Response
The incident has drawn attention to the rapid response of the Mumbai Fire Brigade, whose personnel conducted a complex rescue operation in a densely populated residential area. Officials said the woman is receiving medical treatment, while authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
