There was a time when Oscars was being criticised for being 'too white'. Today, we have South Korean film Parasite being nominated in six categories.  The nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards have been announced. There are a few snubs like Avengers: Endgame that we'd like to talk about. But we will also talk about Parasite being praised like this. The movie certainly deserves all the attention that it is getting. If you have not watched the movie, you should do it as soon as possible.

Parasite, a stark comedic, thrilling commentary on the class divide in the modern world, has earned praised from the critics all over the globe. Our very own Shah Rukh Khan also tweeted praise for it, only for Twitter to crack jokes on him. Dharma Productions' head honcho, Karan Johar, also tweeted about it.

Parasite has been directed by Bong Joon-ho. The movie landed 6 nominations at Oscars 2020 including Best Picture. It will be competing against 1917, Ford Vs FerrariThe Irishman, Jojo Rabbit, JokerLittle Women, Marriage Story, and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Bong Joon Ho also landed a nomination in the Best Direction category. Other nods for Parasite are in the categories of Original Screenplay, International Feature Film, Production Design, and Film Editing. We hope to see the movie winning a few trophies.

India had sent Gully Boy as its official entry for International Feature Film. The movie could not make the cut. In December, the Academy had announced the shortlists, where the movie was not present.
