It has been a week of breakups as two high profile relationships have called it quits. While Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson's breakups have to do with his infidelity, Lady Gaga and Christian Carino's breakup has more to do with them falling apart. Just yesterday, we broke the news of both the couple calling it quits. It was shocking as they ended their engagement after two years of being together. While the breakup was announced, HollywoodLife recently learned the reason behind them calling it quits.
As per a quote from a source, “Gaga has been overwhelmed with emotion the last several months, and ultimately, she felt like she and Christian were no longer on the same page romantically. And that is why they decided to split.” They may have stopped being in a relationship but they are still in good terms, adds the source.
The quote states, “She still loves him, but Gaga feels some of their spark faded.” A lot of the reason also has to do with Gaga competing for the Oscar trophy. From becoming one of the most celebrated pop stars to becoming an award-winning actress for her performance in A Star is Born, Gaga certainly has had too much on her plate. The source also stated, “the Oscar race took a toll on Gaga’s personal life and relationship with Christian, too.”
When reports of Gaga and Carino's split first flashed, sources stated, "They have put all their wedding plans on hold until after Gaga's busy season, but still plan to get married this year." The couple first confirmed their engagement back in October 2018 and since then, they were inseparable. However, it was at the Grammys when Carino's absence along with Gaga's $400,000 million worth sapphire ring fueled speculations of their separation.
