Only very few film-makers have the distinction of having a movie being sold on their brand. So we have directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, SS Rajamouli, Rajkumar Hirani, Mani Ratnam, Karan Johar, whose brand value are as big as the stars they sign if not more. In Malayalam film industry, we have a few directors like this, prominent among those is Anjali Menon. The most successful female director in Mollywood, Anjali Menon has carved a niche for herself in Malayalam cinema and fans are eager to wait for what she has in her sleeves to entertain and enthral them.

So like her previous movies, Ustad Hotel and Bangalore Days, even her latest film, Koode, has warmly received by both the audience and the critics. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy, Koode is also special for the reason that it marks the comeback of actress Nazriya Nazim after her marriage to actor Fahadh Faasil. Director Ranjith, Mala Parvathi, Pauly Wilson, Rosshan Mathew and Atul Kulkarni also have important roles in the film.

Times of India says, "Anjali like her previous movies has focused on the little things in the lives of the protagonists to move the audience while also making us smile. Koode is a breezy, feel-good movie that has good performances, visuals and neatly sketched characters that will stay with you even after you leave the theatre."

The News Minute says, "You never feel the time passing till all 155 minutes are over and the end credits still keep you in your seats for the final song. You might lazily categorise it as a 'feel good' movie. But that would not be fair to Anjali or her crew. One can say that Koode - 'With You' - helps you find the meaning of the word, and all that it contains, in the most beautiful way."

NewsScoopz says, "In total, Koode is a really great family entertainer which will satisfy everyone if you love pleasant feel-good movies. You will never feel disappointed after watching this movie as it has been presented in a different manner with lots of fresh moments in it."

WWGossip says, "Anjali Menon’s ability to delve deep into human emotions without going overboard is phenomenal. Much like her previous films, in Koode too, we get to see the brilliance of the writer in Anjali Menon. The screenplay is the backbone of the film and it has been neatly layered without any hiccups or forced in sequences. Each character in Koode has his/her own identity and they have been established so well that we get to root for each one of them."

Earlier, in an interview to New Indian Express, Anjali Menon insisted that her new film is nothing like her previous ventures. She had said, "It's nothing like Bangalore Days, I can tell you that. Even though I've made two films, most people have only seen Bangalore Days. And Manjadikuru was nothing like Bangalore Days. After seeing the songs of Koode, people are assuming that it's also going to be like Bangalore Days. That's not the case. I hope they don't go into Koode with those expectations." Well, looks like even if Koode is different from her previous films, the reception is the same and it is quite warm!
