The #MeToo movement in India is becoming so strong that it is not restricted to just Bollywood anymore, it is spreading to other industries as well. Sexual offenders in media, politics and literature are being called out. We cannot look at celebs like Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor, the AIB team, Alok Nath, some of the standup comedians the way we looked at them before. Now the #MeToo movement is going down South. Noted Tamil poet and lyricist Vairamuthu has been accused of sexually harassing a singer. Now Malayalam actor and CPI (M) MLA Mukesh has also been under the radar for the same allegation. National Award-Winning Lyricist Vairamuthu Comes Under The Radar of #MeToo Movement; Accused of Forcibly Hugging, Kissing a Girl!

Tess Joseph, who works as a Casting Director, has accused Mukesh of inappropriate behaviour in an incident that happened a few years back. Mukesh was hosting a show called Koteeswaran, which was the Malayalam version of the popular Amitabh Bachchan-hosted quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. Tess Joseph was directing the show and she claims that Mukesh used to call her to his room several times, and later even changed to his room to have one adjacent to hers.

At the time, quizmaster Derek O'Brien was the creative consultant for the show, so when the girl called him up, he arranged for her to be flown out from the city. In her Twitter thread, Tess also accuses hotels like Le Meridien (the hotel where they were staying when the incident happened)

Mukesh has also been under the scanner for supporting another Malayalam actor Dileep, who has been accused of abetting the sexual assault of a Malayalam actress in 2016.
