Chiranjeevi is all set to stun you in a fierce avatar with his upcoming movie, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The historical is based on the life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy from Rayalaseema, considered as one of the first freedom fighters against the British. He had laid down his life even before the National Uprising of 1857 that sparked India's first war of Independence. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is directed by Surender Reddy of Dhruvam fame while superstar Ram Charan, who is Chiranjeevi's son, is producing the movie. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Teaser: Chiranjeevi as India’s Forgotten Freedom Fighter is Stunning Beyond Words.

The makers have revealed a proper teaser of the film on August 20, 2019. The promo looks really epic with Chiranjeevi making a bloody good impression with his fierce body language. The larger-than-life action sequences look absolutely stunning, and the cast is impressive. If you are not aware of it, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Vijay Sethupathi, Kichcha Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu and Ravi Kishan. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy New Character Posters: From Amitabh Bachchan to Nayanthara, Meet The Warriors of Sye Raa in the Chiranjeevi-Starrer.

That said, the teaser also has heavy influences of some other movies that we have seen in recent times. Check them out below:

Baahubali Series

Prabhas in Baahubali

Why is it that every big-budget historical movie that is coming out these days draws an automatic comparison to SS Rajamouli's magnum opus? Well, can't help it that some of the CGI involved in the war scenes, as well as the colour scheme and the epic scale,  feel similar to the blockbuster franchise that made a superstar out of Prabhas.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

Both Manikarnika and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy are about two legendary fighters who took on the might of the British around the same era. But that's not the only similarity we are catching on here. Some of the war scenes shown in the Sye Raa teaser feel similar to that of Manikarnika's battle scenes. Especially that final shot of Chiranjeevi stabbing a British soldier through the head, which was also the final shot of the Manikarnika teaser, where Kangana Ranaut does something similar.

Thugs of Hindostan

Amitabh Bachchan in Thugs of Hindostan

Chiranjeevi's appearance in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy shares a couple of commonalities with Amitabh Bachchan's look in this YRF film, especially facial hairstyle and the fact that they love to wield dual swords. Some of the hand-to-hand action choreography in Sye Raa is also similar to that of Thugs of Hindostan. Maybe it has more to do with the fact that both the film share the same stunt coordinator, Lee Whittaker, who had also worked in Baahubali 2. Also, is it us or does Kichcha Sudeep's body mannerisms in Sye Raa teaser hark you back to what Aamir Khan did in his last release?

Kayamkulam Kochunni

A scene from Kayamkulam Kochunni

This has more to do with how certain setpieces have been designed and highlighted that reminds us of this Malayalam film, starring Nivin Pauly. Especially the ashram where Amitabh Bachchan's character stays.

Lagaan

Aamir Khan in Lagaan

This has less to do with the promo and more to do with the narration. Like in the narration for Lagaan trailer reminded us of how Champaner's Bhuvan was a chapter forgotten in the pages in the history, the same allegory is used for Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
