After the Bollywood actress initiated the #MeToo movement, several women got the courage to come forward and narrate their gut-wrenching experience of sexual abuse and assault they had been subject to at work, naming their alleged perpetrator. Joining the #MeToo Movement in India, veteran writer-producer of 1990s' show too accused actor Alok Nath of sexually harassing her and raping her while she was working on the show. Alok Nath Defamation Suit: Sexual Harassment Accuser’s Lawyer Says, We Will Fight It out Legally

Following the allegations, Sanskaari Babuji, who's accused of sexually harassing several women, was issued a show-cause notice by The Cine And TV Artistes Association or CINTAA. However, Alok Nath, who responded to the notice, neither denied nor accepted the allegations but said in a statement that someone else must have raped her. The actor later even filed a defamation suit against Vinta for maligning his image, seeking a written apology along with a compensation of Rs 1 and a restraining order against Nanda.

However, according to the latest reports, we hear that Mumbai's Dindoshi Sessions Court on Friday rejected the application by Alok Nath's wife seeking an injunction order against the survivor, who accused Nath of rape and sexual harassment. The application sought that the survivor be directed to refrain from speaking to the media or making statements against Nath. Dismissing the order, the court said it can't pass an injunction order against her at this stage.

The #MeToo movement has so far exposed biggies like Vikas Bahl and Sajid Khan, lyricist Vairamuthu, actors Nana Patekar, Rajat Kapoor, Subhash Kapoor, Kailash Kher, Mukesh Chhabra and comedy group AIB, Aditi Mittal, singer Raghu Dixit, among others. Watch this space for further updates.
