A supernatural legacy from Ekta Kapoor's camp means lots of drama, lots of screams and lots of purani havelis. A perfect combination when it comes to horror fans. The show attracted its audience with a very scream-worthy promo. The show takes the prime time slot of 7 pm every weekend. Karishma Tanna and Vivek Dahiya form the lead pair, joined by Dipika Kakkar, Abhinav Kohli, Nirbhay Wadhwa and Daljeet Kaur.

The show takes off 25years ago where we see the beautiful bride Suhasini(Dipika Kakkar) with her groom Mahender(Abhinav Kohli) travelling to the cursed Ram Naam Gadh. Dipika looks as graceful as ever and her portrayal of the petrified bride transforming into fearless woman power in times of adversity, is bang on. She owns the first 25 to 30 mins of the episode today.

The main antagonist played by Nirbhay Wadhwa, not that he is recognisable, -Kalasur, is one that would trigger some sleepless night to those with a weak heart. Kalasur has his intentions of making Suhasini his own for which he goes to the extreme measure of taking the form of her husband Mahender too. Suhasini escapes, and as soon as she sees her husband's life is in danger, she takes up the sword to cut the tantrik into three pieces.

The reason behind Suhasini being the target for the tantrik and also the effects of the curse he drops on Suhasini's family after being cut, is the story to tell. The second part of the episode takes off post 25years in Mumbai. The gorgeous Karishma Tanna as Gauri and Daljeet Kaur as Karuna walk through the streets of Mumbai and rush home as their father expects them soon. Mahender waits for his daughters as he has guests visiting from Ram Naam Gadh.

Mahender requests his daughter Karuna to meet his friend's son in Ram Naam Gadh as a marriage proposal. Though hesitant Karuna agrees with the intention of seeing the place an then rejecting the boy. Gauri, her sister, seems to be the bubbly one landing up in trouble all the time. She loves her sister and supports her in every way she can. Gauri and Karuna are Suhasini's daughters, who is no more.

Damini, their stepmother has brought the girls up as her own. Aparna Mehta plays Mahender's mother who is not happy with the idea of her granddaughters going to the cursed place once again. We are introduced to Raj-Vivek Dahiya and his friend who is the said groom for Karuna. They are back from the US and on their way to Raam Naam Ghadh.

The couples end up fighting on the road as Raj and Gauri clash from day one. They miss the train and also end up taking a jungle route to Raam Naam Gadh where Karuna almost sinks into a marshland. Raj manages to save her in time. The hand of the tantrik is seen surfacing after it comes in contact with Gauri's hand.

Thumbs Up

  • Karishma Tanna, Daljit Kaur and Dipika Kakkar steal all the limelight for the day with the performances and also with how elegant they look. Karishma the long-legged lass has always been a favourite when it came to her personality on screen but today she gets full marks for playing that bubbly, playful, independent and mischievous girl who speaks with conviction as she says " protection weak logo ko chahiye hotha hae jo bhooth preth mey vishwas kartey hae, mey inn sab mey nahi maanthi".
  • For Daljit as she herself stated this is a comeback and she does a good job as the protective elder sister and her father's favourite too.
  • Dipika Kakkar steals all our accolades for the day with her power-packed performance which was a package in itself.
  • Apart from the leading ladies, Vivek Dahiya manages to carve a niche for himself too with his spontaneous comebacks and spot-on comic timings.
  • The locations, the computer imagery and the costumes, for now, seem good enough. The storyline too seems engaging with the kind of suspense it has already built.

Thumbs Down

  • Though the first part of the episode built the foundation for the story yet, it looked a bit overdone and dragged. The tantrik -Suhasini faceoff went on and on for a while more than we could keep ourselves engaged to it.
  • We also would have loved to see Dipika further in the second part of the story, but sadly she seemed to have just so much to do.

Review

We will not say the show is a fresh take on anything yet the show does look promising with a gorgeous star cast and also a story we would love to explore. The lead couple and their chemistry seem something we would love to see as Karishma and Vivek both look good together on screen.
