Mumbai, August 3: SAB TV's popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) has recently completed 10 years of run on television. The show continues to be one of the top 10 shows of the BARC India's viewership ratings list. The show has over the years, managed to successfully bring a smile to people across the age groups. The characters- Jethalal, Daya, Bapuji, Tarak Mehta, Popatlal, Tapu sena have become popular household names.
The show has successfully stepped on to its 11th year, and to mark the occasion, they showed the highlights of the ten years. From the various celebrities who have visited the society for the promotion of their respective films to the actors of the show taking part in different initiative including the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, fans went on a full nostalgic trip.
Earlier last month, Kavi Kumar Azad aka Dr Hansraj Haathi from the show passed away from a cardiac arrest. His comic sense was well-known and was the part of the show for quite many years, making him a household name. His sudden demise came a huge shock not only to his colleagues, but to all his fans. As a tribute, the makers of TMKOC cancelled a gala party on this occasion, and instead there was small pooja that took place. While, there are reports that Nirmal Soni (who played the role for a year) will replace Azad, but there has been no clarification on the same.
The fans have been eagerly waiting for Jetha Lal's wife Daya aka Disha Vakani to come back to the show. Daya is currently on her maternity leave, and there has been speculation for quite some time that she has left the show. However, the makers have recently assured that 'Daya Bhabhi' will be back soon this year, so dear fans brace yourself for more happiness, laughter and fun!
