Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai's maha episode will see the entire Goenka and Singhania family fall apart on knowing about Naira being alive and Kairav being their grandson. And here’s what happens in the episode. Kartik and Naira assure Kairav and send him into the operation theatre, after which the sister gets them the waiver form to sign. On signing it, Kartik tells Naira that he will hold her responsible if something bad happens to Kairav and goes out of the hospital. The surgeon comes out and tells Naira that Kairav’s parents can see the surgery and Naira goes to call him. She spots him in the garden and is about to go to him when she sees Vedika. Vedika tells Kartik that she came to the hospital as soon as she found out and goes on to tell him not to worry and asks him to think and concentrate on Kairav’s surgery only. Only then does she spot Vedika sporting sindoor and mangalsutra and gets shattered.

Kartik and Vedika spot her and the former goes on to introduce Naira to Vedika as his ex-wife. He also taunts Niara and tells Vedika that since they (he and Naira) have been living separately for the past 5 years their marriage is no longer legal. A hurt Niara tells him about witnessing Kairav’s surgery and they rush inside. A few days back, actress Pankhuri Awasthy’s picture from the sets in sindoor and mangalsutra had gotten leaked and that too led to the creatives of the show facing a huge backlash for breaking up the lead pair of show.
