New Delhi, July 29: The Delhi Police on Friday rescued a 16-year-old girl from the clutches of human traffickers who raped and sold her to a pimp. The victim was also sexually assaulted by her boyfriend with whom she had eloped on June 30. The police have arrested four persons and are looking for four more people. The girl was rescued after her boyfriend approached the police for help.

The victim fled with her 18-year-old friend from Sultanpur on June 30. The boy took her Haridwar where he allegedly raped her. The duo returned to the national capital four days later and took shelter at Old Delhi railway station. There, the couple met Ravi who brought them to his house in Ghaziabad. Ravi introduced his live-in partner Rinki to them and promised the boy to get him a job, reported Times of India.

The next day, Ravi and the boy left for searching a job. Ravi abandoned the boy in Gurugram and returned his Ghaziabad house where he raped the girl. When the victim narrated the horror to Rinki, she offered her food laced with sedatives. Ravi and Rinki then sold the girl to one Ashok Goyal through Intezar and Heena, human traffickers.

The girl's friend tried to contact her but failed. He then approached the police and a team led by ACP (Sultanpuri) Alaap Mansukh Patel arrested Ravi and Rinki from their house. The two accused later revealed that they had sold the girl to Goyal in Rohini. A team reached there and rescued her. Four people - Ravi, Rinki. Mukesh and Rohit - have been arrested.

A manhunt is on to catch Intezar, Heena, Goyal and others. The victim is currently undergoing counselling sessions.
