Delhi Model Murder: Prime Accused Imran Arrested After Police Encounter

Delhi Police have apprehended the prime accused in the murder of 21-year-old model Muskan following a multi-state manhunt and a brief encounter in the national capital. The suspect, identified as Imran alias Aqib, sustained a gunshot injury to the leg during the operation before being taken into custody.

The prime accused in the murder of 21-year-old model and content creator Muskan Sharma was arrested after an exchange of fire with Delhi Police in west Delhi, officials said. Imran, a former gym trainer who had been on the run since the killing, sustained gunshot injuries to his legs during the encounter and was taken to hospital for treatment, TOI reported.

The arrest came after a manhunt that involved multiple police teams and extended across several locations. Muskan Found Dead at Tilak Nagar Home

Muskan was allegedly stabbed to death inside her rented home in the Tilak Nagar area of west Delhi on Wednesday evening. She was reportedly alone at the time of the attack. Police said she suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead. Her family had subsequently pointed investigators towards Imran, who was known to the victim.

The 21-year-old was pursuing her studies through Delhi University’s School of Open Learning and also worked as a model and fashion content creator. Imran Injured in Exchange of Fire

According to police, teams from the western district Special Staff and other units tracked Imran during the investigation.

When officers attempted to apprehend him, police said he opened fire. An exchange of gunfire followed, during which Imran sustained injuries to both legs. He was subsequently taken into custody and shifted to a hospital for treatment. Police said the encounter brought an end to the search for the accused, who had allegedly fled after the murder.

CCTV Footage Helped Trace Suspect

Investigators examined CCTV footage from the area as part of the effort to identify and trace the suspect. According to the preliminary investigation, Imran was captured entering the building where Muskan lived and leaving shortly afterwards. Police had also formed several teams to track his movements after he went missing following the murder. The investigation is now focused on reconstructing the events inside the house and determining what led to the fatal attack.

Police Examine Relationship and Possible Motive

Police are investigating the relationship between Muskan and Imran as part of the motive probe. Reports indicate that the two had known each other for some time and were in a relationship.

Investigators are examining allegations of frequent arguments, harassment and jealousy. Police are also looking into whether the attack was premeditated, as the accused allegedly arrived at the house carrying a knife. Officials have not yet announced a final motive, and the circumstances surrounding the killing remain under investigation.

Probe Continues

With Imran now in custody, investigators are expected to question him about his movements before and after the murder, his relationship with Muskan and the circumstances that led to the confrontation.

Police are also examining digital evidence, CCTV footage and other material collected during the investigation. The accused's statements will be verified against the evidence gathered by the investigating team.

The case remains under investigation as police work to establish the sequence of events and determine the full circumstances surrounding Muskan's death.
