New Delhi, March 4: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has now extended the date for applying to group D, assistant loco pilots and technicians till the end of March.  The initial last date of application closing was set to be March 12 but now has been extended until March 31, 2018.  The RBB conducts the examination to fill several vacancies for Indian Railways all over the country each year. As per reports, about 62,000 posts are vacant for group D and 26,000 for assistant local pilots.

The Indian Railways had released the notification for the vacancies open on February 10, 2018, on its official website. Earlier this week, the Railway ministry has rolled out a notification about the RRB Group D jobs to fill 62, 907 post vacancies. It must be noted that under RRB Group D, candidates who are eligible for Trackman, helpers and gateman, among others across all regions.

As per reports, the railway ministry informed a bench of acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and justice C Hari Shankar that it would allow blind candidates also to apply. This move comes after a plea by National Federation of the Blind challenging two recent notifications according to which the blind were barred from appearing for the railways’ recruitment exams.

The applications have been made available by the ministry since February 10, 2018 and will end on March 31, 2018. Candidates enrolling for the same must know that the last date of online payment for the same is March 31, 2018. The exam is scheduled to be held in April or May 2018.

The academic Qualification that is required is a passing certificate of Class 10th or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or holding National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.  Candidates applying for the same should know that he/she should fall in the age bracket of 18 to 31 years.
