The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the admit card for the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) online. All the candidates can download the same from the official website of CBSE; cbsenet.nic.in. The national level entrance test is scheduled on July 8 at 91 cities across and the hall tickets are an important document to carry during the exam. As the board released the admit cards for students to download, the official site was running slow due to huge traffic. Hence, the registered candidates are recommended to keep calm and try again later as the hall tickets will be available online till the exam day.

The NET 2018 admit card will include important instructions to follow during the exam and the venue will also be mentioned at the back. Those who will clear the UGC NET will be eligible for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or will be considered for the post of assistant professor. “The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for award of JRF,” a statement on the official website reads.

From this year, the upper age limit has been increased by two years, from 28 years to 30 years. The exam duration has also been reduced to 3 hours and two papers will be conducted on the same day. Paper 1 will have 50 objective type questions carrying two marks each, whereas Paper 2 will consist of 100 questions of two marks each. Every year, CBSE conducts the test to monitor the eligibility for college and university level lectureship and to award JRF to all the NET aspirants.
