UGC-NET June 2026: NTA Announces Re-Exam Date for English, Commerce, Sociology After Question Paper Errors
The NTA has announced a re-examination for UGC-NET June 2026 in English, Commerce and Sociology after an inquiry committee confirmed major factual, grammatical and structural errors in the question papers. The decision follows widespread student complaints over serious flaws in the examinations.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced a re-examination for three subjects under the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) June 2026 session. Following widespread student grievances regarding severe flaws in the question papers, an official inquiry committee verified extensive factual, grammatical, and structural blunders in the English, Commerce, and Sociology examinations. The fresh re-tests are slated to take place on September 9 and September 10, 2026.
Inquiry Panel Confirms Widespread Question Paper Defects
The decision comes after the testing agency set up a dedicated expert committee to investigate formal complaints submitted by candidates following the exam. Upon review, the panel confirmed that the affected question papers contained notable factual and typographical mistakes, alongside flawed translations and poorly formatted question stems.Β UGC NET June 2026: NTA Puts English, Commerce, Sociology Answer Key on Hold.
