Board exam candidates in Uttar Pradesh gear up as the timetable for the coming year is out. The Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh will begin the class 10 and class 12 examinations from February 7, 2019. According to the release schedule, the matric exams will end on February 28 while the intermediate will conclude on March 2. All the candidates can check the board exam timetable 2019 on the official website of UP Board; upmsp.edu.in. Meanwhile, the schedule has been sent to the state-run schools by the board officials. Besides, considering the winter season, the UP Board has decided to extend the time of the morning shift exams from 7:30 am earlier to 8:00 am in the coming year. 150 Schools Record Zero Pass Percentage in UP Board Exam. 

As per the media reports, for 2019 board examinations in UP, about 57.9 lakh candidates have registered, which is nearly 8.5 lakh less than those recorded in 2018’s exam with 66.4 lakh registration. For class 10, as many as 32 lakh candidates have registered online, of which 23,944 would appear as private candidates. On the other hand, nearly 25.8 lakh candidates have registered for class 12 intermediate examination, of which 68,440 are private. The Deputy Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh Sharma who is also the minister of secondary education released the schedule for class 10 and class 12 board examinations. This time, the board had introduced the NCERT pattern which has helped them to conclude the exams sooner than usual. Sharma told Hindustan Times, “The exam schedule got reduced to 16 days as there will be one paper for one subject now. Introduction of NCERT pattern with one paper for English, one for Hindi, one for Mathematics and one for science paper has helped reduce the number of days.”

Announcing the exam schedule, Sharma also noted it to be historic. Being able to release the timetable five months in advance, the students in UP will get enough time to prepare for their board exams. The exam centres in the coming year will have the voice recorder facility in addition to the CCTV cameras. All the blacklisted and debarred schools will not be made as examination centres.
