The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to announce the results date for Prelims 2018 today, July 10. Once the scores are uploaded online, all the civil service aspirants will be able to check their marks on the official website; upsc.gov.in. Approximately about 3 lakh candidates appeared in the UPSC Prelims 2018 at 73 exam centres across the country. Those who clear the exams will be eligible to sit for the mains exam which is scheduled to be held on September 2018.
So far, no official confirmation has been received from the commission on the result announcement date for UPSC Prelims. Earlier, UPSC chairman Arvind Saxena told the media that it is likely to declare the dates for the results on July 9. But a confirmed date is still awaited. This year, the aspirants sat for UPSC Prelims exam on June 3. If we go by earlier trends, UPSC announces the Prelims result 45 days after the examination which hints that the results could be published on or before July 15.
The candidates are recommended to not go by any speculations and keep a tab on the official website of UPSC as any announcement would be notified on that site. UPSC Prelims were organised in two parts; Paper I which was conducted in the morning and Paper II in the afternoon. Marks obtained on Paper I are considered to scale the names in the merit list, but candidates must also score at least 33 per cent in Paper II to be eligible to write UPSC Mains.
