New Delhi, June 23: A new video of the lynching incident from Hapur has gone viral on social media. The footage shows a mob abusing and assaulting a 65-year-old man, identified as Samiuddin, forcing him to confess cow slaughter.

The clip, shared below, shows Samidduin bleeding profusely from his head. He keeps on pleading the mob to show remorse, while the latter, comprising of children as well, keeps passing communal slurs and pulling his beard.

Reports claimed Samiuddin is currently in ICU, being treated for the injuries caused to him by the mob. His companion, 45-year-old Qasim, already succumbed to death after being lynched by the mob.

The killing was reported from Hapur's Pilkhuwa village, about 70 kilometres from Delhi.

The victim's kin addressed reporters at the Press Club in Delhi on Friday, accusing the Uttar Pradesh police of not registering the FIR as per the details narrated by them.

Mehraj-ud-din, the brother of Samiuddin, said the police also forced them to sign on unclear documents. While the family refused to sign, Samiuddin's thumbprint were forcibly taken on the papers, he alleged.
